Effects of Nasal Breathing Disorders on Sustained Exercise and High-intensity Intermittent Exercise

スポーツ業界では,自転車エルゴメーターやトレッドミル等を用いた運動試験において,マラソン競技の様な持続的運動が,鼻呼吸障害により運動能力へ影響を及ぼすと報告されている。しかし,サッカー等の競技時間の中で,休息時間となる低強度運動と,無酸素運動を伴う高強度運動を何度も繰り返す,間欠的高強度運動においては,鼻呼吸障害による運動能力への影響が明らかにされていない。今回我々は,鼻呼吸障害,いわゆる鼻閉状態を人為的に作成し,鼻呼吸障害が及ぼす持続的運動と間欠的高強度運動への影響を検討した。運動試験の手法としては,よりスポーツ現場に近い環境下での測定を考慮し,持続的運動に対しては20 mシャトルランを,間欠的高強度運動に対してはYo-Yo IRを選択し,走行回数や心拍数,アンケートによる調査を行った。結果は両運動において,正常状態に比し,強制的鼻閉状態で有意に走行回数の減少を認めた。同様に,アンケート調査でも,両運動共に強制的鼻閉状態で,有意に高負荷となる結果が得られた。また,心拍数の検討では,経時的な心拍数変化は両運動共に,正常状態と強制的鼻閉状態で同等の変動であったが,運動終了直後の心拍数は強制的鼻閉状態においてより低い結果となった。加えて,アンケート結果では,有意に呼吸状態の悪化を認めた。以上から,鼻腔の通気性は持続的運動のみならず,間欠的高強度運動へも影響を与える因子であり,運動能力のみならず,精神的にも影響を及ぼす可能性があると示唆された。
